dc good eats

When I first came to DC permanently in 1972 the whole town was a foodie's nightmare. But in 1976 we went overseas for seven years, during which time there was an influx of immigrants from Asia and Africa that changed the way Washingtonians would eat. In addition, the art life has grown tremendously with all sorts of theater choices especially for those who are allergic to going to the Kennedy Center as I am. There's vibrant "new" neighborhoods, including the H St. Corridor that has both theater and great food. I went to Smith commons with a colleague --it was her second trip and she wanted to see if it was as good the second time around. It was. I had a burger that could have rivaled Spike's Good Stuff Eatery, my current favorite burger joint. She had the chickpea ravioli with a coconut curry sauce that was outta sight! Will take JoJo there with my camera just to make sure :-)
